I’m building out the blue forms and letting the rest develop as I go.
Autonomy over convention
I think about whether I’m making art the “right” way.
Composition. Technique. Materials. All the things that supposedly make good art.
I want to understand those things. I want the ability to use them.
I just don’t want them making the decisions.
There is value in learning the rules. But there is also value in wandering off on your own and seeing what you find.
Sometimes I’ll make mistakes. Maybe I discover something.
